NRA BASIC AND ADVANCED FIREARM COURSES

NRA CCW / DEFENSIVE PISTOL COURSE – The NRA Defensive Pistol course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly and with confidence. As a result of participating in this course, the student will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: how to apply the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm; basic principles of concealment; the difference between cover and concealment; drawing from the holster; levels of mental awareness; developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection; clearing common stoppages; use of pocket pistols; and more.

NRA BASIC PISTOL COURSE The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation and is available for delivery in two ways. One option is the traditional, instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. The other option has two components: a self-study or “eLearning module” which is completed online in your own time frame and a hands-on practical portion conducted in a classroom and shooting range with an Instructor.

NRA RIFLE COURSE – This course is at least eight hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development.

NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION INSIDE THE HOME – This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills; strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation; firearms and the law; how to choose a handgun for self-defense; and continued opportunities for skill development.

NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE THE HOME – The course is divided into two levels. Level one is nine hours and offers the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Students spend several hours on the range and shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition during level one. Upon completion, students may choose to attend level two, which is an additional five hours on the range and approximately 115 rounds of ammunition learning advanced shooting skills.

STOP THE BLEED COURSE

IF YOU ARE ON THIS WEBSITE YOU LIKELY HAVE AN INCLINATION AS A "SHEEP DOG", A PROTECTOR OF SHEEP, AGAINST THE MANY PREDATORS WITHIN OUR SOCIETY. ANYONE WHO HAS THIS INCLINATION TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT HUMAN LIFE AND WHO CARRIES A WEAPON WHEN THEY LEAVE THEIR HOME HAS A GREATER THAN ZERO PERCENT RISK OF INJURY OR ENCOUNTERING SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN INJURED.

SUCH INJURY COULD BE DUE TO A VIOLENT ENCOUNTER WITH A PREDATORY HUMAN, A WILD ANIMAL, OR EVEN A TRAUMATIC ACCIDENT. GUNSHOT WOUNDS, BLADED WEAPON WOUNDS, AND OTHER TRAUMATIC INJURIES CAN CAUSE SEVERE BLEEDING THAT CAN QUICKLY LEAD TO DEATH. WITH SOME VERY BASIC TRAINING AND SOME SIMPLE TOOLS, YOU COULD SAVE A LIFE!!!

MINUTES COUNT! SOMEONE WHO IS SEVERELY BLEEDING CAN BLEED TO DEATH IN AS LITTLE AS 5 MINUTES. THAT IS WHY BLEEDING CONTROL--KEEPING THE BLOOD INSIDE THE BODY--IS THE PURPOSE OF STOP THE BLEED® TRAINING. THIS CURRICULUM CAN BE COMPLETED IN APPROXIMATELY 90 MINUTES AND CAN BE ADDED TO ANY FOFAF COURSE AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO STUDENTS.

THIS STOP THE BLEED® TRAINING COURSE WAS DEVELOPED BY THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS IN COLLABORATION WITH US MILITARY AND DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY.

REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM® SEMINARS – A complete seminar may last as long as four or five hours and include the entire lesson plan, but a modified seminar may be as short as one or two hours and cover topics that best suit the needs of a particular audience. This is not a firearms instruction course, and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense. Seminars teach common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of, and a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive and easy to follow. The seminar includes classroom instruction on criminal psychology, automobile crimes; cyber safety, home security, and a variety of crime prevention strategies including carjack avoidance techniques, use of personal safety devices, and more.
